Echo Escape is a four-season property, and winter may be its most peaceful and beautiful season. Snow transforms the lake and surrounding hills, the fire pit burns longer, and the world outside gets very, very quiet. The skiing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing are all exceptional.

ITS Snowmobile Trails

Maine's Interconnected Trail System runs through the Belgrade Lakes region, connecting to hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails across western Maine. Local sled rentals are available in the region. Check the Maine Snowmobile Association for current conditions and trail maps.

Ice Fishing

Right off the property

Echo Lake and the Belgrade chain are excellent ice fishing destinations. Bass, pickerel, and white perch through the ice from January to mid-March. Tip-ups, hand lines, and a borrowed auger are all you need. The lodge's dock area is a natural starting point.

A full-size indoor ice rink with public skating sessions and hockey programs. An easy escape on a warm winter day when the outdoor ice isn't ideal. Check the schedule for open skate sessions — they fill up on weekend afternoons.
